Raheny 5
Several of the Galbally Runners had an early start on Sunday morning when they headed off to Raheny in Dublin for one of the quickest and top 5 mile road races in the calendar. It was personal bests all round for the Galbally Runner crew who were well pleased with their afternoon’s work in Dublin. A family day out for the McVeigh’s seen Francis McVeigh complete another personal best with a time of 37:10 with Éadaoin McVeigh breaking 40 minutes for the first time and smashed it in style with a time of 39:04.
Jonathon Loughan has been in incredible form lately and came home way up the field with a personal best time of 28:32. Laura Maguire smashed her 5 mile personal best with a time of 31:40 as did Denise McCann who knocked just over a minute over her last 5 mile personal best with a time of 32:06. Galbally Runner Fergal O’Donnell averaged a 5:51 per mile pace to come home in a time of 29:41 and under the 30 minutes for the first time. Peter Cush also had a personal best with a time of 29:15. It was great to see Brenda O’Donnell and Martina Duggan putting themselves out for at this event and both had personal bests with Brenda coming home in a time of 44:34 and Martina 50:26.
Parkrun
